Last weekend, Jill Saylor held a memorial for Greg Johnston in which we planted a tree and scattered his ashes in the root system in their backyard in Bernalillo. Then we listened to a live band play well into the evening, and made personalized prayer flags with messages for Greg, and generally gave him a more dignified send-off than Steve Buscemi received from John Goodman and The Dude in "The Big Lebowski" (pictured; Buscemi's ashen character was in the Folgers can). I will post a couple of photos from home of my visit with Terry in Utah from home. It was a great visit -- we interviewed all day, went for a walk by the Colorado in a deep red-walled canyon with her dog Rio, and shared gifts -- she gave me a turkey and a pinyon jay feather for my hat, a rock from the shoreline in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, a signed book, and many good memories. While I was in the Moab/Castle Valley region, the temperature was in the 100s. Quite blistering. Terry was gracious, generous, eloquent, and witty; it was a great experience to be there and to talk to her.
