Anniversary of the Beginning of the War

On the four-year anniversary of the beginning of the war in Iraq, a peace protest was held at Smith Plaza in front of Zimmerman Library. Boots representing dead soldiers and Iraqi civilians were arranged in regimented formation on the plaza. Meanwhile, volunteers stood and read aloud the names of the dead. Here are a couple of photos I took of the exhibit.

A Little Spring Gardening

It's been warm since mid-March, so I've done a bit of gardening. The plants in the ground out front are all hardy southwestern plants; those in the pots on the patio are dianthus, pansies, geraniums, and feathergrass.
